Praise

"A marvelous and perplexing balance of the most humble philosophy imaginable with the most hubristic -- "our responsibility for God is matched by a responsibility to God." I applaud the argument that the theology of theopraxy is monotheism at its least idolatrous. It is a beautiful proposition. ... I want to conclude, however, with praise not only for the radically beautiful ideas but for the structure of the argument. The pithy subchapters and the proverbial summaries present themselves with an authority appropriate to their content. The poems of declarations are splendid and a simple way to start. I didn't understand them on the first reading but I was eager to reread them when I completed the book. It was actually a nice return, a good way to end by beginning again. This is a remarkable essay; I hope lots of people get a chance to read it." Peter Greenberg, AIA, Cambridge, Mass.
